How is the value of gold jewelry calculated?
Multiply the weight by the share of pure gold for its karat, then by the day’s spot price. For example, 10 grams of 14K gold holds about 5.83 grams of pure gold, and that pure gold is what the spot price applies to.
How do I know what karat my gold is?
Look for a stamp inside a band or near a clasp: 10K or 417, 14K or 585, 18K or 750, 22K or 916, 24K or 999. Unmarked pieces can still be tested, and we test every piece in front of you.
Can I value silver, platinum and palladium too?
Yes. Choose the metal for each piece and its stamp: sterling silver is 925, platinum is usually 950 or 900, and palladium 950 or 500. Each metal is valued at its own live price per troy ounce.
